The incident happened around 3:39 a.m. when the truck, traveling southbound, suddenly veered into the road safety structures. The impact caused some of the concrete barriers to be thrown onto the roadway, hitting a passing bus.
A nearby sedan was also sideswiped as the truck continued moving after the initial collision.

“Dumugo ‘yung ilong niya, nilinisan ko lang din po. Ang sinasabi niya may biglang barrier sa harap niya. Nabigla na siya. Base sa kwento niya, nakainom daw siya,” he says.
Authorities learned that the truck driver had come from Monumento in Caloocan City and was on his way to Pasay City when the crash occurred.
He was later taken to the Quezon City Police District Traffic Sector 4 for further investigation and proper documentation of the incident.
The collision resulted in damage to four concrete barriers and one traffic cone, adding to the hazards along the busy stretch of EDSA.
Traffic flow in the area became heavy following the crash as debris and the disabled truck blocked several lanes.
Cleanup operations were immediately conducted, and the truck was finally cleared from the road at around 5:35 a.m.
Traffic conditions gradually improved afterward, allowing vehicles to pass through the area more smoothly as the morning rush began.
