Barangay personnel alerted the authorities at around 3:30 p.m. after noticing a foul smell coming from the area. Upon arrival, investigators found the body wrapped in cloth, black garbage bags, and plastic. Before her disappearance, the victim was last seen on January 16. She reportedly told her family she was heading to Novaliches, Quezon City, and was accompanied by her eight-year-old son. “I immediately sent an investigator to check, verify. Same thing with the Quezon City Police District. And likewise we also coordinated with the CIDG, the Major Crimes Unit. The Southern Police District (SPD) has since formed a Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) to resolve the case quickly. This group includes the CIDG and the Bulacan Police Provincial Office. Currently, the victim’s husband, who is also a police officer, is being held as a person of interest at the NCRPO.

PMGen Anthony Aberin, Regional Director of the NCRPO, stated, “Yung POI po natin ay andito lang po sa NCR and of course tinitignan natin yung involvement niya, kung may involvement siya, and we will try to investigate everything.”

Investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage to track the movements of those involved. PCol Añonuevo added, “Siguro hindi muna natin sabihin, kasi undergoing investigation tayo, but we will inform you immediately kapag nabuo na namin yung kaso, medyo ide-determine pa namin yung motive, ano ba yung motive.”
