The incident happened shortly after 11:00 a.m. on January 12 and was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
Footage showed the motorcycle parked along the roadside before a man wearing a white shirt approached and took it away moments later.
According to Project 6 Police Station commander PLt. Col. Dave Anthony Capurcos, the victim’s employee noticed suspicious behavior even before the motorcycle went missing.

“Pero before mawala 'yung motor meron nang umaaligid aligid na kahina-hinalang tao doon sa establishment nila," he said.
The owner immediately reported the theft to barangay officials and the police.
At the police station, officers showed the victim photos from the rogues’ gallery, where the suspect was positively identified. Capurcos explained the process, saying, “Na-identify natin yung suspek, sir.”
Police then launched a follow-up operation to locate both the suspect and the stolen motorcycle.
Initial information placed the suspect in Caloocan before officers learned he might appear near Congressional Avenue and EDSA.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that the motorcycle had been taken to Barangay San Bartolome in Novaliches, where it was eventually recovered.
Capurcos added that the suspect was also involved in another theft incident.
“Doon din natin nalaman na may ninakaw din siyang helmet.”
The suspect fled after being held by a security guard, leaving the motorcycle behind.
Police later received information that the suspect would go to a fast food restaurant along EDSA, where officers waited and arrested him.
Records showed he had previously been jailed for theft, robbery, and illegal gamb*ling, marking his fourth imprisonment.
“Wala naman akong balak ibenta yon," said the suspect.
He is currently detained at the Project 6 Police Station and is facing charges for violating the new anti-carnapping law.
In separate developments, a long-time public school teacher named Agnes Buenaflor of Pedro E. Diaz High School died after collapsing during a formal classroom observation on January 7, 2026. The 58-year-old educator reportedly lost consciousness in front of her students and evaluators. Although she was given immediate first aid and rushed to a nearby hospital, she passed away just hours later. In the aftermath, the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition and other labor groups urged the Department of Education to review what they described as “oppressive” performance monitoring systems that may be placing excessive pressure on teachers. Officials from DepEd Muntinlupa said they are deeply saddened by the loss of the “cherished mentor” and have launched an inquiry into the incident to clarify the circumstances and extend assistance to the grieving family.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Rivera Regio has fulfilled his long-standing dream of becoming a lawyer at nearly 60 years old after passing the 2025 Bar Examinations. His journey began in 1993 and spanned more than 30 years, including 11 attempts marked by scores that repeatedly fell just short of the 75 percent passing requirement. Regio finally succeeded after the removal of the “five-strike rule,” allowing him one last chance to take the exam. A former public servant, he said his decision to try again was driven by a desire to leave a powerful example of perseverance for his five children. Now among the 5,594 successful examinees out of more than 11,000 takers, Regio has captured public attention online, serving as a reminder that success follows no fixed timeline.
