QCPD Director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio disclosed during a press briefing at Camp Crame that the information came from a sworn statement submitted by maid-of-honor Jackielou Ibañes on December 23.

According to the statement, de Juan had been worried after the health maintenance organization card used for her father’s treatment was reportedly exhausted.

“Habang nagpapagamot daw yung tatay niya ay nasagad na ang HMO (health maintenance organization) card na ginagamit… Na-stress na daw siya at kulang ng support mula sa pamilya niya,” says Ibañes in the sworn statement shared by the QCPD.

She added that the bride-to-be had expressed emotional strain while planning her wedding.

“Nabanggit din niya na mahirap palang ikasal na maraming iniisip,” she says.

Silvio also said the wedding coordinator submitted a sworn statement on December 21 that discussed wedding arrangements, financial concerns, and de Juan’s GCash activity, including an undisclosed registered number.

He further noted that de Juan’s fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, filed a supplemental sworn statement on December 18 describing their nearly decade-long relationship and confirming that de Juan missed work on December 4 due to stomach pain.

“The wedding coordinator [also] executed a sworn statement [last Dec. 21] regarding the wedding arrangements, financial difficulties and Sherra’s GCash usage, including an undisclosed registered number,” Silvio says.

Police attempts to trace de Juan’s movements included coordination with ride-hailing services Grab and Angkas, both of which reported no booking records.

Authorities also checked with the Bureau of Immigration and Montenegro Shipping Lines to see if she traveled to her hometown in Romblon, but found no leads.

Reported sightings in Taytay and Cubao were also verified and turned out negative.

Ibañes further revealed that de Juan had previously left home abruptly about 10 years ago and returned only after wandering for hours.

Investigators said this detail matched earlier digital forensic findings showing search histories related to medications and the effects of overdosing, as the search for de Juan continues.

In separate developments, the holiday season was marred by serious injuries after two minors lost fingers in separate firecracker-related accidents. The Department of Health reported a total of 91 fireworks-related injury cases nationwide as of December 27. Records showed that most of those hurt were young males, with many incidents linked to the use of prohibited or illegal fireworks. In light of the rising numbers, health officials said they are strengthening public awareness efforts, reminding the public about firecracker safety and the importance of providing prompt and proper first aid for blast injuries.

Meanwhile, concern grew in Panglima Sugala, Tawi-Tawi after the body of a 56-year-old man was discovered in nearby coastal waters. Due to the extent of the injuries found on the victim, residents believe he may have been attacked by a saltwater crocodile. Information from the community indicated that the man had gone out earlier to collect firewood for sale as a source of income. Local authorities have since warned residents to remain highly cautious when near bodies of water, especially in areas known for crocodile sightings, as reports of similar wildlife encounters in the area have increased.
