Manila Police District spokesperson PMaj. Philipp Ines detailed the child’s account of what followed after the encounter.

“Pinagbantaan siyang papatayin, at according din sa kanya, pinakain siya ng ipis,” said Ines.

ABS-CBN News was able to speak with the victim’s mother, who chose not to appear on camera to protect her family’s privacy.

She shared that her son saw the alleged assault inside the classroom and tried to leave the area.

However, she claimed the teacher noticed him, chased after him, and brought him into a bathroom within the school.

Inside the bathroom, the suspect allegedly threatened the child and forced him to eat a dead cockroach.

The boy later recounted the traumatic experience to his family, which prompted them to seek police assistance and file a formal complaint.

ABS-CBN News also visited the school where the alleged incident took place. While no official statement was given on camera, authorities confirmed that coordination with school officials is ongoing as part of the investigation.

The case has raised alarm among parents and education advocates, highlighting the importance of safeguarding students inside school environments.

Salon owner stabbed during Facebook live in Camiguin, suspect arrested

Police said further inquiries are being conducted to establish the full extent of the allegations and to determine whether additional victims may be involved. Authorities urged anyone with relevant information to come forward as the legal process continues.

In another development, Quezon City police are examining CCTV footage taken along Commonwealth Avenue showing a woman boarding a public bus who may be the missing bride, Sherra De Juan. Sherra was reported missing on December 10, only days before her scheduled wedding, after she went out to look for budget-friendly bridal shoes at a nearby mall. Authorities have taken custody of her laptop and cellphone for digital forensic analysis, hoping that a cyber warrant will allow them to trace her last online activities and movements. QCPD District Director Police Colonel Glen Silvio has identified Sherra’s fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, as a Person of Interest to allow further questioning, while stressing that this classification does not automatically imply guilt.

Meanwhile, a separate and alarming incident unfolded in Mambajao, Camiguin, where a stabbing attack was captured live on social media. A 33-year-old salon owner was assaulted inside his own establishment while a livestream was ongoing. A 50-year-old man allegedly entered the salon and attacked the victim with a knife as online viewers watched in shock. The assault was cut short when a barber intervened, successfully disarming the suspect and restraining him until authorities arrived. Investigators later said the attack may have been fueled by a long-running personal dispute that had reportedly escalated over several months through exchanges on social media platforms.
