In a statement released Tuesday, acting PNP chief PLt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. confirmed that police are providing all necessary assistance to find Sherra De Juan, who was reported missing four days before her wedding scheduled on December 14.

“We are exploring all possible angles including whether there was foul play or other circumstances surrounding her disappearance,” he said.

Initial police findings revealed that De Juan last communicated with her fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, on December 10.

During their exchange, she informed him that she was on her way to a mall to purchase her wedding shoes.

After that message, she failed to return home, prompting concern from her family and loved ones.

Authorities also disclosed that De Juan left her mobile phone at their residence while it was charging.

The device has since been taken into police custody and is undergoing forensic examination.

Investigators hope the phone will provide crucial information that could help reconstruct her final movements and identify the people she may have been in contact with before her disappearance.

As part of the ongoing probe, police are reviewing closed-circuit television footage from areas she may have passed through.

In separate developments, Valenzuela City officials have organized a special task force to look into the disturbing case of a pet dog discovered injured and bleeding, with its tongue badly damaged. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage that allegedly recorded the animal’s cries during the early hours of Tuesday. A witness has suggested that the injury may have resulted from a violent encounter with another dog. Police stressed that all pieces of evidence, including video recordings and eyewitness statements, are still being carefully examined and verified before any determination is made.

Meanwhile, a tragic incident in the southern Philippines claimed the lives of eight members of one family after a multicab crash in Ayungon, Negros Oriental. Police reports indicated that the vehicle lost its braking system while traveling down a steep road, leading to the fatal accident. The family was on their way to a cemetery to attend a memorial service for a deceased relative, which was also part of a planned Christmas reunion. Five other relatives, including the driver, survived the crash and are currently undergoing treatment in a hospital for their injuries.
