Initial police reports showed that the tricycle was carrying four family members. Three were hit during the attack: the father, the six-year-old girl, and a 17-year-old male relative. The father died on the spot, while the young girl was rushed to the hospital but later passed away. The 17-year-old victim remained confined for treatment. A seven-year-old child survived and did not sustain any injuries.
PLt. Col. Aleli Buaquen, spokesperson of the Batangas Police Provincial Office, explained how the attack happened.
The Nasugbu Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) reported the incident to the police, prompting investigators to respond quickly. Authorities also recovered shell casings at the crime scene. So may intent talaga na sila'y patayin.”

Residents of Sitio Buhay were left shaken by the attack. Some said the family was on their usual trip home and that nothing seemed unusual before the shooting. The community is cooperating with investigators to help identify anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
Police continue to appeal to the public for information. They urged anyone who may have seen the suspect or heard anything connected to the case to report it to the Nasugbu Municipal Police Station.
