The discovery was made early Monday morning by the victim’s partner, who is part of the LGBTQ community.
According to a report by Efren Mamac for GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, the partner was about to open their lotto outlet located within the same property when the shocking scene was uncovered.
Barangay kagawad Jun Lacea said the victim was found lying on the bed. He explained that she had been alone at home because her relatives were attending a birthday celebration.

She was expected to follow them later that evening but never arrived.
Police believe the incident may have been linked to robbery.
“Ang area po parang may nagulo, nagulo po ang kuwatro and at the same time maraming saksak na tinamo ang ating biktima,” says Police Major Jethro Doligas of Police Station 2.
He added that the initial findings from investigators showed the victim suffered 15 stab wounds.
A tricycle driver who reportedly delivered food for the victim’s pets was questioned by authorities as part of the ongoing probe.
He denied any involvement in the crime and was released after the interview.
Despite early leads, police say the investigation remains active as they work to determine who may be responsible for the woman’s death.
Major Doligas noted that the case is far from closed, stressing that officers are continuing to gather evidence and interview potential witnesses to establish a clear timeline of events.
In Davao City, a 74-year-old man lost his life after being attacked by his own grandson, a tragedy that stunned their neighborhood. According to family members, the 27-year-old suspect had a history of displaying aggressive behavior toward the victim and had been admitted to a mental health facility several times before the incident. Loved ones have decided not to pursue criminal charges and are instead arranging for him to be placed under psychiatric care. The elderly man’s death has left a heavy emotional impact on those who knew him.
In a separate case, an 18-year-old student passed away after unauthorized CCTV footage—allegedly showing her taking ice cream without paying—was shared among local youth groups. Her family said the video’s circulation caused overwhelming embarrassment, anxiety, and distress, which they believe contributed to her tragic death. Authorities have since filed complaints against both the store owner and the study room supervisor for possible violations of privacy laws.
These two incidents have intensified discussions across the country about digital cruelty and the obligations people carry when sharing sensitive material, particularly when minors are involved. Experts are urging the public to consider the serious consequences of online behavior, while advocates highlight the growing need for mental health awareness and stronger support systems to help prevent similar tragedies.
