In Barangay Jubay’s Colorado Dos, resident Allison Tojoy shared with CDN Digital that their subdivision has been struggling to recover from the destruction.

“Daghan pa kaayog mga debris nga wala pa ma clear, lawom pa kaayong lapok sa amoa dapit and naa pod mga sin sa ilawom nga natabunan (Plenty of debris has yet to be removed, our neighborhood is still deep in mud that covers some roofs),” she said, describing how deep layers of mud still cover homes and roads.

Tojoy added that the air has turned unbearable because of the combined smell of waste and heat.

“Grabe kabaho… sa sulod tungod sa waste, kay ning backflow man ang mga CR sa mga panimalay during sa typhoon. Grabe sad ang init gawas sa balay. Nakacontribute sad sa baho ang decomposing bodies (It’s very… smelly indoors because of waste, since household toilets backflowed during the typhoon. It’s also very hot outside, and decomposing corpses have worsened the stench),” she said.

The Municipality of Liloan has confirmed seven deaths from the typhoon as of November 7. On social media, Mayor Aljew Frasco said clearing work has started in affected areas.

“In response to the circulating posts claiming that Villa Azalea and Villa Lara have a ‘foul odor’, please be informed that the matter has already been addressed,” he assured, noting that dead animals had been properly buried.

Despite this, residents say many areas remain uncleared. Tojoy mentioned that some benefactors have privately funded equipment to speed up recovery, while Cebu 5th District Rep. Vincent “Duke” Frasco appealed for excavators, payloaders, bulldozers, and backhoes to aid their ongoing efforts.

Caught by CCTV, three men entered their store, closed the roll-up door, and shot the entire family to death. Before fleeing, one of the suspects even grabbed a bag and a mobile phone from the victim. In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big argument.
