Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, the Department of Justice, and the Bureau of Immigration – Fugitive Search Unit served a mission order at a condominium.
When the door opened, officers went inside and found one suspect in the middle of a crypto-scam operation on his computer.
Drug paraphernalia containing suspected liquid ecst@sy was also recovered from his table.
In another operation, the Bureau of Immigration, the National Bureau of Investigation – Organized and Transnational Crime Division, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology arrested another Chinese national linked to the same scam network.
Their computers contained scripts and software used to trick victims into investing in fraudulent cryptocurrency platforms.
According to BI-FSU Chief Rendel Sy, scammers pretend to train victims to invest. They show fake profits to make the victims believe they are earning.
However, the platforms shown to victims are not real, and the money goes to the scam group. Both Chinese suspects were also found to be overstaying in the country.
The NBI and DICT confiscated the devices for digital forensic checks and to identify the victims. Some of the people scammed include foreigners and Filipinos.
The two suspects have not given any statement and are currently detained at the Bureau of Immigration facility in Bicutan.

In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.
In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
