Gerald Piccio, who recently lost a loved one, shared that they plan to include a QR Code on their family member’s headstone.
“For technology na, so it's great. It's a good experience na na-improve na ating mga ganitong ways for mourning and at the same time, once kapag [ini-scan mo ang] QR Code, lalabas ‘yung information ng death ni father ko and then you can put some messages there and then you can see all kung sino ang pumunta,” he said.
Beyond basic information, the QR Code also serves as a digital keepsake. Families can attach photos, milestones, and even playlists to honor the personality and life story of their loved one.
Carlos Miguel Locsin, National Sales and Marketing Manager of Forest Lake Memorial Parks, explained, “It can be anything that the family would like to share. It can be the favorite songs of the departed loved one. It can be the favorite movies, any achievements.”
To further personalize tributes, the company also provides themed caskets designed to mirror the hobbies, colors, and unique traits of the deceased, making farewells more meaningful and heartfelt.
