The accident occurred late Sunday evening, October 26, 2025, along the Provincial Road in Barangay Sta. Luciana.

According to the initial investigation conducted by the Cauayan City Police Station, Jessica was driving her Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle toward the eastern part of Sta. Luciana Proper.

At the same time, a Mitsubishi L300 van, driven by 32-year-old Kim Gerald Esguerra, also a resident of Barangay San Antonio, was traveling in the opposite direction.

Police reports indicate that the motorcycle, traveling at a seemingly high speed, was on an uphill section of the road. It was at this critical moment that Jessica allegedly lost control of the handlebar.

The loss of control caused her motorcycle to swerve violently, crossing the center line and crashing directly into the oncoming van.

The impact of the collision between the lightweight motorcycle and the heavy van was severe. Jessica suffered grievous injuries across various parts of her body.

Despite the immediate response of the local rescue team, Rescue 922, and efforts to save her life at the nearest medical facility, her attending physician declared her dead on arrival. Both vehicles involved in the crash also sustained significant damage.
