10 vehicles scramble on road after a truck allegedly loses brakes

A major accident in Nabas, Aklan shocked many after a 10-wheeler truck reportedly lost its brakes and crashed into a van ahead of it.

The incident happened along Barangay Libertad on Monday night.

According to a report from GMA Integrated Newsfeed, a video taken by another vehicle in front showed the moment the truck slammed into the van.

Both vehicles overturned and hit other cars on the opposite lane, creating chaos on the road.

Authorities confirmed that ten vehicles were involved in the crash. Two of them even fell into a ravine due to the strong impact.

Rescue teams quickly responded and brought the injured victims to the hospital.

Five people were hurt in the incident, but no deaths were reported. Witnesses described the event as terrifying, saying it all happened in just a few seconds.

Police are still investigating the cause of the brake failure and are checking if the truck was properly maintained.

They also reminded drivers, especially those handling large vehicles, to always ensure their brakes and engines are in good condition before traveling.

The damaged vehicles have been cleared from the road to avoid further accidents, while authorities continue to gather more information about the crash.
