Senior citizen caught on CCTV robbing vape shop, arrested before he could escape

A 61-year-old man failed to escape after breaking into a vape shop in Barangay Sauyo, Quezon City.

The store owner was watching him live through the CCTV camera and called the police right away.

CCTV footage showed the suspect searching through the shop using a flashlight.

He opened several cabinets and took cash and vape products.

When he tried to crawl out through the roll-up door, it suddenly shut, trapping him inside.

The man could only sit down in frustration as police arrived to arrest him.

According to police reports, the shop had just closed when the break-in happened.

The owner spotted the man loitering near the store and immediately informed nearby patrolling officers.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Von Alejandrino of Talipapa Station said they waited for the suspect to come out to ensure he was not armed before making the arrest.

Authorities recovered ₱3,000 in cash and vape items worth over ₱1,300 from the suspect.

He later confessed, saying his child had a heart condition and that his small corn-selling business had run out of capital. He admitted doing it out of desperation but said he regretted his actions.

Police confirmed that this was already his fifth arrest. He had previous records related to theft and illegal drugs.

The suspect now faces robbery charges, adding another offense to his criminal history.

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
