The boy reportedly ran toward her for help, but the venom had already taken effect before medical assistance could save him.
The MDRRMO expressed condolences to the grieving family and urged the public to be cautious, especially those working or traveling through farmlands and forested areas.
They reminded residents to always wear thick clothing and boots as protection against snake bites and to remain alert in environments where venomous reptiles are known to inhabit.
Local officials also advised the community to report sightings of snakes immediately to barangay authorities or rescue teams to prevent similar incidents.
Cobra bites, if not treated right away, can be fatal due to the rapid spread of venom that affects the nervous system.
This heartbreaking case serves as a somber reminder of the dangers posed by venomous snakes in rural areas of the Philippines.
