Following his arrest, the American national was immediately transported to Manila and placed under BI custody while awaiting deportation proceedings.

BI Commissioner Joel Viado reiterated the agency’s firm stance on foreign nationals violating Philippine immigration laws.

“In line with the President’s marching orders, we are making it clear that the Philippines will not tolerate foreign nationals who abuse our hospitality,” he emphasized.

He further stated that enforcement applies to all regardless of status.

“Whether ordinary worker or top executive, wala kaming pinipili pagdating sa pagpapatupad ng batas. Everyone is accountable if they violate our laws,” Viado added.

The Bureau of Immigration continues to monitor similar cases nationwide to ensure that all foreigners working in the country comply with proper documentation and visa regulations.
