Authorities reported that two trucks transporting relief goods for earthquake victims in Cebu were involved in an accident along the Cebu Transcentral Highway in Barangay Cansomoroy, Balamban, on Sunday afternoon, October 5, 2025.

The vehicles were part of a convoy delivering essential supplies to communities affected by the recent tremors in the province.
Initial information revealed that both trucks lost control while navigating a sharp curve in the mountainous section of the highway, a route known for its steep inclines and tight turns.
Witnesses said the crash caused a temporary blockage of the road as sacks of relief goods scattered across the area.

Responding rescue teams from Balamban’s disaster and emergency units immediately arrived at the scene to assist the drivers and passengers of the two vehicles.
Authorities have not yet released the official count of those injured, but several individuals were reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Traffic was temporarily halted as clearing operations were conducted to remove the damaged trucks and recover the spilled cargo.
The local government of Balamban and the Cebu provincial disaster office assured that delivery of relief goods to earthquake-hit areas would continue despite the incident. They also urged motorists to exercise caution when driving through the Transcentral Highway, especially during deliveries or aid missions.
