Reports indicate that multiple homes in the area were instantly crushed by massive boulders dislodged from the hillside, leading to the loss of at least 15 residents in the barangay alone.

The overall death toll for the province of Cebu due to the magnitude 6.9 tremor has tragically climbed to over 70.

The young victim, identified as Lady Jean Ytang (aged 17 in some reports, 16 in others), had already managed to get out of her family's house as the violent shaking began late Tuesday night.

However, in a selfless act of courage, she immediately ran back inside the house as the structure began to give way.

He described how his own injury prevented him from carrying his daughter to safety.

Lady Jean's dedication to her family was profound; her mother shared that she had even temporarily stopped her schooling to help care for her newborn sibling.
