Mayor Moreno expressed deep regret over the boy’s death, who was later identified as a resident of Taguig.

The mayor also reminded citizens to remain calm to avoid further violence.
“It turned out it’s an ordinary citizen trying to protect his property and afraid of his life, caught in the middle of a chaotic and unruly riot,” Moreno said.
“I know, mahirap, lalo na kung gusto mong proteksyunan ang iyong sarili at iyong naipundar. But buhay, hindi na natin maibabalik.”
The riot, which broke out during an anti-corruption demonstration, caused widespread damage to both private and government property. Authorities estimated the destruction at around ₱10 million.
