The police chief of Marikina was removed from his post due to command responsibility.

This came after a female police officer filed a complaint against two male colleagues who allegedly molested her.

Eastern Police District head Police Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante confirmed the relief order in a press briefing.

He said the chief will also be investigated to determine if he failed to properly supervise his men.

Reports said the incident happened on August 17.

The suspects, a staff sergeant and a patrolman, invited the victim for coffee while she was on duty. She joined them in the patrol car.

Instead of going for coffee, they parked somewhere, and that was where the crime allegedly happened.

The victim did not report the incident right away. Ten days later, on August 27, she filed a complaint for sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness against the two officers.

The accused policemen are now under restrictive custody while the investigation continues. They both denied the accusations and insisted they did nothing wrong.

Authorities said the victim has been temporarily reassigned to another unit while the case is being processed.

Officials also noted that she is in stable condition but remains deeply distressed by the incident.

If the allegations are proven true, the two policemen may face administrative and criminal charges.

The investigation also aims to check if there was negligence in leadership that contributed to the incident.

It can be recalled that two male police officers were disarmed and placed under preventive custody after a female officer accused them of molesting her inside a patrol car in Marikina.

The three are known to each other and belong to the same unit.

According to reports, the incident happened on the night of August 17 while the police mobile was parked. The victim said that one of her colleagues touched her inappropriately.

She only filed a complaint days later because the suspects allegedly asked her not to tell anyone. The female officer was temporarily reassigned to the Eastern Police District while the case is under investigation.

Officials said she is now in stable condition, but described her as crying and deeply upset over what happened.

Meanwhile, the two accused officers, holding the ranks of Patrolman and Staff Sergeant, remain in the custody of the Marikina police. They strongly denied the allegations, and authorities will review their actions on the day of the incident.

Police Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante, District Director of the Eastern Police District, said the two policemen will face administrative and criminal charges if the victim’s claims are proven true.
