Authorities reported the death of a man who allegedly planned to steal from the storage room of a public school in Toledo City, Cebu, after he fell from its roof earlier this week.

According to a report from GMA Regional TV’s Balitanghali on Thursday, the lifeless body of the man was discovered by teachers of DAS National High School in Barangay DAS (Lutopan) on Tuesday morning.

Initial investigation revealed that the man had climbed onto the roof of the school when the incident occurred. Investigators said he accidentally fell while on top of the structure.

Authorities believe that during the fall, “posibleng tumama ang kaniyang ulo sa semento” due to the force of the impact.

Despite suspicions of attempted theft, police clarified that no foul play was discovered in the incident.

“Walang natukoy na foul play ang mga awtoridad sa insidente,” investigators stated.

As of now, the family of the deceased has not yet issued any public statement regarding the matter.

Law enforcers are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fall.

The incident has raised concerns among local residents and school staff regarding security measures in the area, especially in public institutions vulnerable to break-ins.

Officials are also looking into the possibility of reinforcing security within the school premises to prevent similar incidents in the future.
