Barangay Dalig Chairman Loni Leyva explained that around 20 meters of the 10-foot-high wall, constructed over two decades ago by a private subdivision, collapsed due to the strong force of floodwater.

“Itong area na ito ang pinaka low-lying area. So lahat ng tubig na nanggagaling sa taas, pumunta rito sa baba, sa lakas, tinulak ‘yung pader,” Leyva said, adding that the wall’s location made it particularly vulnerable to flooding.

The barangay has coordinated with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Antipolo City Engineering Office to assess the stability of the remaining structure.

Local officials assured that aid will be provided to the injured woman and her family as authorities continue to monitor the area for potential hazards.
