Reymark had suffered serious wounds after allegedly being hacked in the neck and head by their brother-in-law, Mike Servidad.
In haste, Riyen tried to overtake another vehicle but ended up colliding head-on with a pickup truck. The impact threw the victims from the tricycle.
“Head on collision. Sa impact na ito, ang driver doon, lumipad. Tapos ang isa, napunta sa sasakyan na nakasunod sa kanila. Unfortunately, two of the victims were pronounced dead on arrival,” said Police Major Bryan Alamo, chief of Pototan Municipal Police Station, referring to Reymark and Raymond.
Riyen later died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Authorities arrested Servidad for the hacking incident. He claimed self-defense, saying Reymark—allegedly drunk—first chased his wife with a machete.
“May pag-aaway gamit ang itak. Due to self defense, kay based sa information, nauna ang victim natin na hinabol ang kanyang kapatid na babae,” Alamo explained.
The brothers’ family declined interviews but indicated they may no longer press charges against Servidad.
