Seven people were injured after an SUV crashed into a private school in Caloocan City on Thursday afternoon, August 14, when its 70-year-old driver accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.

According to the Caloocan Police, the incident happened past 4 p.m. while the driver was waiting to pick up his grandchild. Witnesses said the SUV suddenly lunged forward, ramming through the school’s premises before coming to a stop inside the compound.
Authorities reported that all seven victims sustained varying degrees of injuries but are in stable condition. They were immediately given medical attention and transported to a nearby hospital.
Investigators are looking into filing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries and damage to property against the driver.
