Authorities have tracked down and confronted the three high school students behind the assault of a grade 3 pupil in Iligan City.

Reports confirmed that all three suspects are minors. Because of their age, they cannot face criminal charges under the current law.

The incident became widely known after the suspects themselves posted a video of the beating on social media.

In the footage, the high school students can be seen exchanging punches and kicks with the younger boy, targeting different parts of his body.

The three minors will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for proper handling.

Despite the serious injuries caused to the victim, they are unlikely to be jailed due to their age.

Officials are also studying the possibility of holding the parents of the suspects legally accountable for the incident, given the extent of the harm inflicted on the young victim.
