The powerful waves made it difficult for her to stay afloat. The currents eventually pulled her farther away from the shore, dragging her into deeper waters.
Efforts to reach her in time proved challenging due to the rough sea conditions.
Bystanders later spotted her floating lifeless in the water.
She was immediately pulled out and rushed to a nearby hospital, but medical staff pronounced her dead on arrival.
Police reminded the public of the dangers of swimming under the influence of alcohol, especially in open waters where unpredictable currents and waves can quickly overwhelm even strong swimmers.
They urged beachgoers to exercise caution and to avoid entering the water after drinking.
Local authorities are expected to coordinate with community leaders to raise awareness about water safety, emphasizing preventive measures to avoid similar tragedies.
The incident has left residents saddened, with some recalling Jocelyn as a friendly and familiar face in the community.
Her death serves as a sobering reminder of the risks posed by mixing alcohol and swimming in the sea.
