Two young cousins tragically died after drowning when they accidentally fell into a lake in Binangonan, Rizal, on Monday, August 4.
The victims, both boys aged 3 and 4, were students and residents of Barangay Bombong. Their names were not released to the public.
According to a report from the Binangonan Municipal Police Station, the incident happened at around 12:20 p.m. at Pritil Wharf in Barangay Bombong.
Police investigation revealed that the boys were walking near a waiting shed by the wharf when they accidentally slipped and fell into the water.

The mother of one of the victims became alarmed when she saw her son’s slippers floating in the lake. She immediately called on neighbors for help to search for the children.
Rescuers later found the cousins unconscious and quickly brought them to Margarito Duavit Memorial Hospital in an attempt to save their lives.
Unfortunately, doctors declared both of them dead upon arrival.
Authorities continue to remind parents and guardians to closely watch over young children, especially near bodies of water, to prevent similar tragedies.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
