”One year ago today, I saw my love, my best friend, my wife take the last breath of her life while I was holding her hand,” Elvis wrote in a moving post. “It will forever be the most painful feeling I will ever endure.” Accompanying his message were throwback photos of the couple—one from 2005 when they first started dating, and another from March 2024, during a brief moment of reprieve outside the hospital.
Elvis recalled how the six months they spent in the hospital together only deepened their already strong bond. “I didn’t know it was possible, but it made us even closer. To see her strength, positivity, and faith through the unending battle she faced—it was truly admirable,” he wrote.
Despite the heartbreak, Elvis expressed gratitude for the profound love they shared. “I know I will carry this pain throughout my whole life, but still feeling blessed to feel and be with a once in a lifetime love with you. Until my last breath,” he said.
