In the Philippines, a murder case is handled seriously and goes through several legal steps.

First, the police investigate the crime by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and arresting the suspect if there is enough proof.

The suspect is then charged in court and must undergo a preliminary investigation by the prosecutor to confirm if there is probable cause to put the case on trial.

If the court finds enough basis, the case goes to a full trial where both the prosecution and defense present their sides.

If the suspect is found guilty beyonda reasonable doubt, the court will sentence the person, often with a penalty of reclusion perpetua or life imprisonment.
