Anthony Taberna revisits ABS-CBN: “Nostalgic ang pagbabalik”

Anthony “Ka Tunying” Taberna stirred emotions online after sharing a post about his recent visit to the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center, bidding an emotional farewell to the iconic building that shaped much of his broadcasting career.

It is worth noting that the building and the iconic Millennium Transmitter are set to be demolished following the sale of a portion of the media giant’s property in Quezon City to Ayala Land Inc.

On his Instagram page on Friday, July 18, Taberna shared a series of photos from his heartwarming visit, where he bumped into several of his former colleagues.

In the caption, Ka Tunying aired his heartfelt sentiments about the place he once considered his second home.

“Nostalgic ang pagbabalik,” he expressed in his touching post.

“Ang aking pangalawang tahanan sa loob ng mahigit 23 taon. Ito ang RADYO PATROL #28 Anthony Taberna ABSCBN DZMM!” he continued, recounting his long tenure with the broadcasting giant and its flagship AM radio station.

The post quickly resonated with numerous supporters, many of whom recall Taberna’s long-running programs and fearless commentaries on both radio and television.

Taberna was a staple voice on DZMM for over two decades. He left ABS-CBN following the shutdown of its free TV and radio operations in 2020.

In a heartfelt farewell post, Julius shared photos of them posing before the iconic tower and the broadcasting center. In another report, Kim Atienza is among the celebrities who have taken to social media to pay tribute to the ABS-CBN Millennium Transmitter. In a poignant post published on July 10, Kuya Kim shared a carousel of photos, containing snaps featuring the iconic tower and logos of the Kapamilya shows he hosted before transferring to GMA Network. Along with the carousel post, Kuya Kim expressed his heartfelt gratitude to ABS-CBN and its historic tower. “Maraming maraming salamat sa 17 taon!” he began his post. He credited the network for shaping his identity as “Kuya Kim” and ended with a hopeful message for all the Kapamilya.
