A 45-year-old security guard was arrested by Marikina Police following a violent road rage incident in Barangay Concepcion Uno on Thursday, according to NCRPO chief Police Major General Anthony Aberin.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect tailgated a 30-year-old motorist, cursed at him, and pursued him until both stopped at the gas station.
There, the situation quickly escalated. Witnesses said the security guard pulled out a firearm and shouted, “Gusto mo, barilin kita!”
He then allegedly punched the victim and kicked the victim’s vehicle, causing visible damage.

The suspect attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended immediately by responding officers.
Authorities recovered a loaded caliber .38 revolver with six live rounds, along with the suspect’s motorcycle.
Police say the suspect appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
He now faces several charges, including Physical Injury, Grave Threat, Malicious Mischief, and Violation of Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
PMGen Aberin commended the quick response of the police and urged the public to report similar incidents immediately.
“Thanks to the vigilance of our citizens, we were able to prevent a possible tragedy,” he said.
