A bus driver was caught on video allegedly playing a mobile game while driving, sparking outrage and concerns over passenger safety.

According to a report by "24 Oras Weekend," the video was recorded by a concerned passenger aboard a Cavite-bound bus.

The uploader said they were seated at the front of the vehicle when they noticed the driver fiddling with his cellphone.

At first, the passenger was unsure of what the driver was doing.

However, upon closer observation, it appeared the driver was engaged in what seemed to be an online g@mbling game.

Alarmed by the reckless behavior, the passenger recounted that the bus veered off its lane multiple times and the driver delayed braking when vehicles were ahead.

Fearing for their safety and that of the other passengers, the commuter called out the driver, prompting him to stop using the phone.

The incident has since been brought to the attention of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), which is expected to conduct an investigation.

The agency has consistently reminded public transport drivers to avoid distracted driving, particularly the use of mobile phones, as it poses serious risks on the road.

Netizens have also expressed concern, urging authorities to impose stricter penalties and enhance monitoring systems to prevent similar incidents.

The identity of the bus company and the driver involved has not yet been disclosed as of this writing.
