However, because of the long journey to the hospital, his mother died from too much blood loss.
The suspect voluntarily turned himself in to the police authorities, but was eventually released, because his family didn't file charges against him.
In the Philippines, if a son accidentally shoots and kills his own mother, the case would generally be classified as reckless imprudence resulting in homic!de under the Revised Penal Code.
This charge is applied when someone causes another person's death due to carelessness or lack of precaution, without any intention to kill.
The court will examine several factors, such as the specific circumstances of the act, whether there was negligence involved like failing to unload the firearm before cleaning it, and whether the shooting was truly accidental.
If it is proven that the act was unintentional and supported by evidence, the penalty is usually lighter compared to deliberate crimes.
Still, the son may face both criminal and civil consequences, which can include imprisonment and the obligation to pay damages to the family.
The final charge and possible punishment will depend on the outcome of the investigation, including witness accounts, forensic findings, and the cooperation of the person involved.

According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
