Babae, arestado matapos mag-shoplift sa isang mall

A 34-year-old woman identified as alias Rejoi, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Libas, Roxas City, was arrested after allegedly shoplifting from a major mall along Arnaldo Boulevard, Barangay Tanque, around 5 p.m. on June 21.

According to a report filed by the mall’s HR staff, Watchman alias Raymund was conducting a routine patrol in the department store area when he noticed the suspect placing various children’s items into her bag.

However, she reportedly bypassed the cashier and exited the store without paying.

Raymund discreetly followed the woman outside the mall and confronted her about the unpaid items. Although the suspect initially denied the accusations, a search of her bag revealed several stolen goods.

Among the recovered items were three bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk, one box of Cloud 9 chocolates, one pack of Chuckie chocolate milk, four Virginia Hungarian sausages, two Tango chocolate snacks, three deodorants, one lotion, and seven pieces of ready-to-wear clothing.

The total value of the recovered merchandise amounted to ₱5,001.75.

When asked to present a receipt, Rejoi failed to provide any proof of purchase, prompting her immediate arrest by responding authorities.

She is currently detained at the Roxas City Police Station and is set to face charges for theft.

Authorities remind the public to follow mall policies and emphasize the legal consequences of stealing.

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
