According to a report by GMA Regional TV aired on *Balitanghali* on Tuesday, authorities revealed that the baby had likely been submerged in water for approximately five hours before being discovered by a concerned resident.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) confirmed this detail during their initial investigation.

The heartbreaking incident quickly drew the attention of the local community and barangay officials.

With no known relatives coming forward, the barangay took immediate responsibility for the infant's burial arrangements.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to locate the mother of the baby. According to police, the woman could potentially face charges of infanticide under Philippine law if it is proven that the act was intentional.

The discovery has sparked concern among residents, with many calling for awareness and stronger support systems for young and struggling mothers to prevent similar tragedies.

Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
