A tragic domestic incident unfolded in Barangay Tenani, Paranas, Samar, where a 48-year-old farmer allegedly stabbed his 38-year-old wife to death following an argument about her plan to work in Manila, TV Patrol reported.

According to Paranas police, the couple engaged in a heated argument around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday regarding the wife’s intent to leave for Manila to find employment.
The dispute escalated quickly into violence when the husband allegedly attacked his wife with a bolo knife, stabbing her multiple times in different parts of her body.
Responding officers and members of the Paranas Emergency Rescue Response Team (PERRT) found the woman’s lifeless body in the backyard of their home.

Inside the house, they discovered the husband lying in a pool of blood after he allegedly turned the knife on himself.
Both were rushed to the Paranas Rural Health Unit, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.
Authorities recovered two sharp bolo knives at the crime scene, believed to be the weapons used in the fatal stabbing.
The couple leaves behind eight children, including a pair of 3-year-old twins. In the wake of the tragedy, their relatives are now calling for help.
“Humihingi ng tulong ang kaanak ng mga naulilang bata na nangangailangan ng matinding suporta, hindi lamang sa emosyonal kundi pati na rin sa pinansyal na aspeto,” a family member said.
The heartbreaking incident highlights the urgent need for mental health support and financial assistance for the surviving children.

Three minors—aged 2, 4, and 13—were injured and suffered breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation, ayon sa GMA Integrated News. The fire started at 10:46 p.m. and was brought under control by 11:18 p.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.
