Closely behind her was her live-in partner, armed with a gun, which he allegedly pointed and fired in the woman's general direction.
Police investigations have revealed that the altercation stemmed from an argument that began the previous evening.
The couple’s dispute reportedly originated when the woman cautioned her live-in partner about making excessive noise while he was consuming alcohol, as their eight-month-old infant was asleep.
The disagreement seemingly festered, leading to a renewed confrontation the following morning, which tragically culminated in the chase and the firing of the weapon.
According to the police, despite the suspect discharging the firearm, the woman was not struck by any bullets. Following the incident, law enforcement officers successfully located and arrested the man.
During questioning, the suspect reportedly informed the police that he had no intention of physically harming the woman.
However, authorities have filed multiple charges against him, including attempted murder and violation of the existing gun ban. The suspect has declined to provide further statements to the media.
This incident has drawn significant attention online, highlighting the pervasive issue of domestic violence and the dangers that can arise from unresolved household conflicts.
The viral video of the chase and shooting has sparked a wave of reactions from social media users, many expressing outrage and concern for the victim’s safety.
On Instagram, comments poured in, reflecting a strong condemnation of the suspect's actions. “Ang dami nang nangyayaring ganyan,” (So many incidents like this are happening) one user lamented, pointing to the prevalence of such domestic disputes.
Another commenter expressed profound shock, “Grabe, nakakatakot na talaga!” (It's truly terrifying!). Many highlighted the severity of the act, with calls for justice. “Dapat makulong yan at hindi na makalabas,” (He should be jailed and never released) a user firmly stated.
The presence of the infant also weighed heavily on commenters, with sentiments like “Kawawa naman yung baby” (Poor baby).
Some reactions also urged caution and awareness about domestic violence, reminding others that arguments should never escalate to such extremes.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the critical need for interventions and support systems to prevent domestic disputes from turning violent and endangering lives.

In other news, Congressman-elect Albee Benitez rejects his estranged wife Nikki Lopez-Benitez’s allegations of economic and psychological abuse under RA 9262, calling them baseless and timed after his 2024 annulment filing. Benitez’s lawyer claims all marital assets—including luxury homes and shares—were funded by Benitez but registered under Nikki’s name; he also allegedly supported her and her family for over 20 years. The inclusion of a third-party in the complaint was condemned by the mayor's camp as an attempt to manipulate public opinion and sensationalize the issue. Benitez’s legal team says the disclosure of unrelated individuals may violate Section 44 of RA 9262, which mandates confidentiality in such cases.
