A tragic shooting incident took place early Monday morning, May 26, in front of the Barangay Hall of Salitran 3 in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, leaving four people dead and one injured, ABS-CBN reported.

According to the initial investigation, the attack occurred around 8 a.m. while local officials were conducting their regular flag raising ceremony.

Without warning, the suspect—identified as "Ariel," a 50-year-old former barangay tanod (village watchman) of Salitran 3—approached from behind the gathering.

Eyewitness accounts say Ariel suddenly drew a firearm, the type of which has yet to be determined, and began firing repeatedly at the barangay officials present during the event.

The shots caused panic and chaos in the area, leaving several people on the ground before the assailant fled the scene.

Authorities are now conducting a manhunt to locate the suspect, whose motive for the attack remains unclear.

Investigators are also reviewing security footage and gathering more testimonies from witnesses to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.

Local officials and residents of Barangay Salitran 3 expressed their shock and grief over the incident, as the flag ceremony is a routine civic activity meant to promote unity and patriotism.

The injured victim has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is currently under observation.

Earlier reports by Radyo Todo Aklan, which was later confirmed by other media sources say Julian, Senator Jinggoy’s son, was allegedly physically assaulted by three young men in Boracay Island during the early hours of Saturday, May 24. The reports further state that the alleged incident unfolded around 2:00 AM as Ejercito and his nephew were walking near a mini-mall after leaving a bar. Senator Jinggoy has confirmed the alleged assault.
