A 61-year-old woman tragically died after being run over three times by separate vehicles at the intersection of Illinois Street and Aurora Boulevard in Barangay Silangan, Quezon City, on May 17, according to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

The horrific incident occurred when the woman, whose identity has not yet been disclosed pending notification of her family, was initially hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) while crossing the road.

Moments later, a second SUV ran over her, followed by a sedan, all within a short span of time. The repeated collisions left her with fatal injuries.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attempted to render aid, but the woman was declared dead shortly after due to the severity of her injuries.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby establishments to determine the sequence of events and identify those responsible.

QCPD has called on the drivers involved to come forward and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

Legal action is expected to be taken once all responsible parties are identified and statements are collected.

The incident has sparked renewed calls from residents and safety advocates for stricter traffic enforcement and better pedestrian infrastructure in the area, especially along busy intersections like Aurora Boulevard.

As of now, the investigation remains ongoing, and the public is urged to exercise caution on the roads.

Still in other news, a 65-year-old man, Nestor Rensales, died after voting in Oas, Albay during the midterm elections. Rensales, a stroke survivor, felt dizzy and collapsed shortly after casting his vote at Oas South Central Elementary School, ABS-CBN reported. His wife shared that he insisted on voting despite the heat and early crowd, believing his vote still mattered. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
