According to an article by PhilSTAR Life, a bouquet of red roses was left outside the 23-year-old influencer's salon in central Mexico.
Along with the flowers was a letter containing a chilling note that said, “perdón,” which means sorry in English.
A local newspaper called Diario de Yucatan wrote in an article that they were believed to have come from the mastermind behind her death.
The flowers and the note were both discovered earlier this week at her salon, at the Blossom the Beauty Lounge in Zapopan in central Mexico. It's where Valeria was doing her livestream when she was shot and killed.
The word “perdón” (sorry) was written using blank ink.
According to the article, state governor Pablo Lemus Navarro said that the CCTV footage revealed Marquez's alleged killers who were leaving the crime scene right after when she was shot dead.
The alleged killers were seen using two different vehicles.
"When they attacked this influencer, Valeria, they took two different routes in two different vehicles: a motorcycle and a white car," Navarro said.
Meanwhile, Reuters said Valeria's death is also being investigated for femicide or "the killing of women or girls for reasons of gender."
According to Mexican authorities, it can "involve degrading violence, s*xual abuse, a relationship with the murderer, or the victim's body being exposed in a public space."
This is also being related to the recent killing of another model and influencer, 22-year-old, Maria Jose Estupinan, who was shot on May 15, by a person who disguised himself as a delivery man.
