Rescue teams swiftly responded, rushing the girl and her grandmother to a nearby hospital.
The girl was also revealed to be the cousin of the four-year-old girl who tragically lost her life in the accident.
In a phone interview with ABS-CBN News, the child’s father, Daniel Masongsong, shared how deeply affected his daughter was during the ordeal.
“Punong-puno ng pag-alala sa kaniyang lola sa mga oras na iyon ang nararamdaman ng bata,” he said.
He added that while the young girl wanted to help her grandmother, she was at a loss for what to do.
According to Daniel, the grandmother had taken the child to the airport to send off her uncle, Danmark Masongsong, unaware that the trip would end in tragedy.
The emotional scars left by the crash continue to affect the young survivor, who now associates the airport with fear and loss.
