Bianca Gonzalez took to Instagram to share her excitement and gratitude upon being featured as a “Morena Icon” on the maiden issue of Allure Philippines.

The television host and advocate for embracing natural beauty posted behind-the-scenes glimpses from the photoshoot, expressing her disbelief and pride in the caption: “One of those ‘how is this real life’ moments. To be called a MORENA ICON for the maiden issue of Allure Philippines is something that would make young Bianca feel so proud and seen.”
In her post, Bianca reflected on her admiration for fellow morena icons, stating, “Growing up I have alwaysss looked up to Tweetie de Leon as MY morena icon and life peg… and so to be in the same frame as her, and also one of my ultimate girl crushes Angel Aquino, my dearest sister Iza Calzado, and absolute queens Mylene Dizon, Agot Isidro and Wilma Doesnt…. paano?! Paano ba ’to nangyari??!”
She also acknowledged the efforts of Allure Philippines and its team, led by Rissa Mananquil Trillo, for championing the beauty of brown skin: “Thank you for championing the beautiful brown skin of the Filipina, and for being the representation our generation wish we had growing up.”

Bianca shared that over the years, she has received messages from women who felt empowered by her advocacy, recalling an article she wrote two decades ago about loving her morena skin.
She expressed her emotional response to these stories, saying,
“To this day, I get random messages from women who share that they read the article I wrote in meg magazine two decades ago, about how much I love being a morena and how it is really something we should be proud of; or DMs sharing how I helped them feel comfortable in their dark skin despite other people bullying or bashing them for it; and meeting people irl who tell me that I played a part in why they no longer wanted to whiten their skin because they saw that brown skin is beautiful too.
“It makes me so emotional reading and hearing these stories because knowing that what Tweetie and Angel were for me growing up, is also what I am to the generation after me, and how representation and using our voice really matters.”
Concluding her heartfelt message, Bianca declared, “Forever a #proudmorena and just so incredibly honored to even be part of all this!”
Bianca Gonzalez is a TV host and a UNICEF supporter. She married basketball player, JC Intal, on December 4, 2014, in El Nido, Palawan. They have two daughters. She has been one of the main hosts of Pinoy Big Brother. She has been the one hosting alongside Melai Cantiveros and also actor Enchong Dee.
