According to an interview conducted by Bombo Radyo Bacolod with Danilo Sanires, a Barangay Tanod (village watchman) of Barangay Alangilan, information gathered suggests that the vehicle, driven by an Indian national, had already been involved in a collision prior to reaching the procession.
Sanires stated that the vehicle was traveling at a high speed downhill into the barangay.

Further details from Sanires revealed that the speeding vehicle first collided with a tricycle, which was then reportedly pushed into a patrol car belonging to Bacolod Police Station 5.
As of the latest updates, three individuals have been confirmed dead, with one dying on the spot while the two others dying at the hospital.
In addition, around 10 other individuals who sustained injuries have been transported to various hospitals for medical treatment.
Following the incident, initial reports indicated that the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene.
