A security guard in Cebu City went on a violent rampage in the early hours of April 8, shocking residents and hotel staff in the Uptown area.

The incident, which was caught on video, showed the suspect dragging a female co-worker along the road, prompting alarm and immediate response from authorities.

According to Frontline Pilipinas, the commotion began past 12 a.m. when shouts from a distressed woman echoed through the area.

A fellow security guard attempted to intervene, while the woman tried desperately to hold on to him for safety.

An employee of the hotel where the suspect was assigned shared that the man initially ate, then suddenly became aggressive.

He reportedly kicked the hotel’s glass door and forcibly dragged the front desk officer outside when she tried to call the police.

Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit responded quickly to the scene.

Upon confrontation, the suspect allegedly charged at the officers, prompting them to shoot him in the leg to subdue him.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody and provided medical attention.

Authorities have yet to confirm what triggered the violent outburst, but the hotel management and police are conducting further investigation.

The pickup truck driver, Fernando Oquina, stated that he did not see the women on the road prior to the collision. The family of the victim is determined to file a case.

Meanwhile in other news, a barangay chairman in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan died after he was shot but a still unknown gunman. According to the report of Balitanghali of GMA Integrated News, the victim was driving a tricycle. A man at the roadside then signaled for him to stop, and when he did, he was shot by the perpetrator. The gunman immediately fled the scene, but authorities already have a person of interest.
