In a report in GMA 7's 'Unang Balita,' the incident is now being investigated by the National Police Commission of NAPOLCOM.
According to Atty. Rafael Calinisan, NAPOLCOM Commissioner, if the police made an offense, he should be penalized.
But the problem was the way Go and MMDA handled the incident. They could've just served the ticket and it's done, but they chose to record a video of Felipe and post it on social media.
According to Calinisan, he spoke with Felipe a,nd the police officer wanted to file a complaint against Go.
Even Senator JV Ejercito called out the way the incident was handled by the MMDA and questioned if it's "...for the views?"
Meanwhile, MMDA said they issued a show-cause order to Go. They promise that if a law has been violated, they will make sure that due process will be followed.
Gabriel Go is the head of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's (MMDA) Special Operations Group-Strike Force, known for enforcing traffic regulations and posting clearing operations on social media platforms like TikTok, where he has amassed a significant following.
Additionally, Go resigned from the MMDA in June 2023 following a s3xual harassment complaint by a female traffic enforcer but was rehired in November 2023, as no formal case had been filed against him at the time. These incidents have sparked debates about his conduct and the MMDA's internal policies.
