According to a report by "24 Oras" of GMA News, the victim was allegedly courting the live-in partner of the suspect, which may have triggered the fatal assault.
Police authorities noted that jealousy appeared to be the primary motive behind the attack.
CCTV footage obtained by GMA News captured the moments leading up to the stabbing, showing both the suspect and the victim riding their motorcycles in close proximity while traversing the road.

PCol. Jay Baybayan stated that the victim and the suspect frequently encountered each other at the location of the incident.
The suspect had already been harboring suspicions that the victim was pursuing his partner, leading to mounting tensions between them.
During the investigation, authorities recovered a knife, which was believed to be the weapon used in the crime.
Additionally, a sachet containing what appeared to be m@rijuana was allegedly found in the victim's possession, although further examination is necessary to confirm this.
The suspect was promptly arrested following the incident but refused to give a statement to authorities.
He maintained that he would only speak in the presence of his lawyer.
Police continue to investigate the case, gathering more evidence to determine the full circumstances surrounding the deadly altercation.
