The suspect will be charged with 4 counts of statutory r*pe. He refused to give out any statement about the allegations against him.

In the Philippines, statutory r*pe is punishable under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 11648. It occurs when an individual engages in s*xual int*rc*urse with a minor below 16 years old, regardless of consent.

The penalty for statutory r*pe is reclusion perpetua or life imprisonment if the victim is under 16 years old and there was no use of force or intimidation. Before the death penalty was abolished in 2006, it was imposed if the victim was under 12 years old and the offender was a parent, guardian, relative, or had authority over the child, but it has since been replaced with reclusion perpetua without parole.

Additional penalties may apply if the offender holds a position of trust or influence, such as a teacher, step-parent, or religious leader.

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
