The alarming incident was later reported to authorities by the husband’s mother, according to GMA Public Affairs.

Concerned for her daughter’s safety, the mother-in-law decided to take action and sought police assistance.

Together with law enforcement officers, she went to the couple’s house to intervene.

However, despite the abuse, the woman chose to stay with her husband, admitting that she was at fault in the incident.

Following the confrontation at their home, the couple later met with the mother-in-law at the barangay hall.

During the meeting, she firmly warned her son-in-law that if he ever laid a hand on his wife again, he would face jail time.
