Authorities have uncovered an alleged drug distribution operation utilizing delivery parcels in a residential building located in Barangay E. Rodriguez, Quezon City, leading to the arrest of four individuals.

The operation was reportedly conducted under the guise of regular package deliveries, raising concerns about the misuse of delivery services for illicit activities.

According to reports from 24 Oras Weekend, surveillance footage depicted a man receiving a parcel from a delivery rider in front of the apartment building.

Subsequently, another individual was seen awaiting a package in the same area.

Authorities later determined that these parcels contained illegal narcotics.

A search of the rented unit belonging to a 35-year-old male suspect yielded plastic bags and sachets of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value exceeding 6.8 million Philippine pesos.

In some instances, multiple delivery riders were observed simultaneously picking up parcels believed to contain illegal drug$.

The individual renting the unit was apprehended, while authorities are actively searching for an alleged accomplice involved in the distribution of the suspected methamphetamine.

Upon questioning, the primary suspect claimed that the drug$ were left by a friend, and that he had only used some of them.

"Mga naiwan lang po 'yan dito ng kaibigan po namin. Baka po kapag tinapon ko po 'yan magalit sa akin. Sinubukan kong gumamit po," the suspect claimed.

Three other individuals present in the unit during a buy-bust operation were also arrested.

These individuals provided various explanations for their presence, citing financial needs or claiming to be unaware of the drug activities.

"Kailangan ko lang po kasi ng pera, bibili ng gamot," said another suspect.
"Nadamay lang po talaga ako, kasi wala naman akong ideya na meron palang nagbebenta rito," claimed yet another suspect.

The four arrested individuals are now facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug$ Act and are currently in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Meanwhile in news elsewhere, a woman, believing she had boarded her booked motorcycle ride, unknowingly got on the vehicle of a 21-year-old, who then assaulted and robbed her. The suspect pretended to stop to urinate but instead took the victim to a deserted area in South Road Properties (SRP), where the crime was allegedly committed. The victim immediately reported the crime to the authorities, leading to the suspect’s swift identification and arrest, according to GMA News. The suspect admitted to the crime, claiming he needed money for tuition fees.
