As she and former Senator Leila De Lima faced media people, the video of which was shared by Philstar, she made a comparison about the situation of the former president and the former senator at the time that she was arrested.

"Parang I cannot help but compare yung sitwasyon ngayon ni dating Pangulong Duterte at yung sitwasyon ni Senator Leila before. Alam natin kung ano yung pinagdaanan niya.

The former president then described the kind of room that the former senator was in.

"Yung kay senator Leila De Lima, yung kwarto niya, sobrang liit na sobrang init, walang air condition,may electric fan lang siya. Pero she did not have access to a computer, senator siya noon, sinusulat niya lahat.
Yung nagtatrabaho siya as senator pero wala siyang access sa computer, sa telepono, wala siyang access sa internet. Nabigyan lang siya ng Karapatan na pwede siyang manood ng movies. After a long time.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He left Malacañang on June 30. The newly inaugurated President of the Philippines is Bongbong Marcos who got 31 million votes in the May 2022 elections. The new Vice President of the Philippines is VP Sara Duterte, the daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Earlier, the former president was apprised of his rights under the Miranda Doctrine. In a video shared by GMA News, CIDG chief, Police Major General Nicolas Torre III, is seen reciting the Miranda Doctrine to the former president. The reading of the Miranda rights is a standard procedure for persons being arrested to ensure that the latter fully understands their rights upon their arrest. It can be recalled that the International Police (InterPol) has confirmed the issuance of the arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court against the former president.

An earlier video showing former President Rodrigo Duterte’s longtime partner, Honeylet Avanceña, seemingly trying to prevent the former leader from being taken into custody has gone viral. The video, which was posted on the social media page of their daughter, Veronica or Kitty Duterte and shared by ABS-CBN news on its own page, has since then gone viral. The said video also captured snippets of conversations between Avanceña and the former leader. As of this writing, the video has gained 1.2 million views with 5.4K comments and 29K reacts.
